Established in 2020, Horologium is a UK-based workshop founded by Raphael Pfund and Raquel Palmieri. Our growing team is exceptionally equipped to take care of watches from start to finish. Our services include Assembly, Service and Repairs, and Restoration, always ensuring quality and reliability.

Meet the team

Raquel Palmieri

Co-founder and Managing Director

After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Literature and Translation from Universidade Mackenzie in Sao Paulo, she has gathered experience teaching Languages in multiple countries and then after change in career paths gained valuable experience working in New York for an international conglomerate while obtaining an A-Grade diploma in Business Management. After co-founding Horologium she’s been at the helm guiding it through substantial growth within just the first years.

Raphael Pfund

Co-founder and Director of Watchmaking

An accredited member of the BHI and graduated first of his class from the watchmaking school ZeitZentrum in Switzerland with a Federal Certificate of Proficiency specialized in servicing and restoration of contemporary and antique watches and clocks, after which he has gained international experience in the after sales service environment for multinational independent brands. As co-founder of Horologium he has been responsible for the scaling of the workshop while ensuring continued exceptional quality and reliability.

Luca Brand

Head of Service and Restoration

Luca is a highly certified watchmaker with now a decade of experience in servicing all different kinds of watches from antique pocket watches to modern luxury and complication wristwatches. He is continuously honing his skills as he brings his experience and knowledge to the British watch industry.

Christine Milroy

Head of Assembly

Christine is an award winning jeweller and designer from Glasgow, Scotland. She graduated with a BA Honours Degree in Jewellery Design & Silversmithing from The Glasgow School of Art. Since then she participated in a 6 month internship in the Scottish Highlands before moving to Reading to pursue a career in Watchmaking. Currently working towards her BHI qualifications, she has quickly become an integral part of Horologium as head of the assembly department.

Sam Bland

Watchmaker

Sam’s journey in the watch industry began working in retail with dozens of brands having to gain intricate knowledge on each of them. This has provided the opportunity to gain a wide scope of knowledge of the industry, paving the way to becoming a trained technician and assembler with a global watch brand. After five years in this role, he is now looking forward to growing his skill with Horologium and becoming a BHI certified watchmaker.

Gary Little

Watchmaker

With over 25 years in the creative industry, winning numerous awards and accolades along the way, Gary decided the time was right to follow his burgeoning passion for all things horology. Now with a decades experience as a technician and assembler with a world renowned watch company, he’s looking forward to broadening his horizons and product knowledge with the team at Horologium, expanding his skill set along the way.

Kevin Waldie

Workshop and Office Assistant

Kevin has enjoyed a long career in the international aid and development sector, and currently volunteers as the chairperson of a small film-production charity focused on Africa. Always happy to learn new things, and keen to balance his overseas commitments with something nearer to home, he joined the Horologium team after discovering an interest in watches and watchmaking.

A look into the workshop

Founded in a little terraced house on the outskirts of Reading, Horologium has a new home in Pangbourne since June 2021, with brand new workbenches and state-of-the-art equipment.
